The Flintshire Bond Scheme can help people who cannot afford the deposit when trying to rent a property through private landlords. It can assist applicants with a non-cash deposit, completion of housing benefit forms and advise on tenancy related issues.

Who is eligible?
- Over 18 years old
- Single people, couples and families
- Persons who are homeless or threatened with homelessness
- In receipt of benefits or on a low income
- Looking for private rented accommodation but unable to afford a deposit
- Less than £250 savings
What is the application process?
You will need to contact the Flintshire Housing Solutions to register your details. Once a private rented property is found by you, you will need to complete a Bond application form and/or a housing benefit form with us. You will be required to provide proof of identity (drivers licence, birth certificate or passport) and proof of benefits or income that you may be in receipt of.
The landlord you are applying to may request credit checks and take up references. Be prepared to have at least TWO references available and, in some cases, a working guarantor.
Once you have been accepted by the landlord for the property, but prior to moving in, we will visit the property to check the condition of the property and conduct an inspection report. If we are satisfied with the condition of the property a Deposit Bond will be issued to the landlord on the day you move in.
